Shohp NowGE Dishwasher Configurations
GE dishwashers come in a few different sizes and styles that accommodate to several kitchen designs. The most common is the 24″ built-in dishwasher, designed to fit between existing fittings while holding space for up to 16 place settings. Smaller models that are 18” wide typically have eight to 10 place settings.
Many dishwashers also have top controls, which can be helpful when accidentally brushing past your kitchen washer. A popular feature, maximum control, allows you to choose your dishwasher settings from the top rather than the front. With that said, the GE dishwasher line also features various front control dishwashing machines for users who prefer managing settings at the front of their machine.
GE Dishwasher Features
Despite their affordable price points, GE dishwashers are well made, featuring high-performance, food-eliminating blades and decent noise ratings. These are the features most commonly found across GE dishwashers:
A sanitizing steam function loosens food on dishes before the washing cycle even begins, and with a 99.999% rate of bacterial elimination, you won't have to compromise on food safety.
If any food is left on plates or is too big to be washed, the Piranha™ Hard Food Disposer blends up any remaining bits at a rate of 3,600 RPM. The feature virtually eliminates having to clean a dishwasher filter, making maintenance simpler while simultaneously preventing the appliance from having to work harder.
While this happens, the Active Flood Protect feature monitors water levels inside your dishwasher to prevent potential overflows.
GE Dishwasher Prices
The good news is that, despite being a popular brand, GE dishwashers won’t cost buyers more than $1,000 for its most advanced model. Otherwise, buyers can expect to spend around $600 to $800 on a dishwasher from the manufacturer. For that reason, GE is one of the top brands we recommend to homeowners in the market for a reliable dishwasher that doesn’t cost a fortune.
GE Dishwasher Pros and Cons
There are many things to consider when purchasing a dishwasher: what size you need, how consistently well it performs, how loud it is—the list goes on.
The biggest advantage of a GE dishwasher is its price, however, this does mean that some desirable features of modern dishwashers are omitted. While the line doesn’t exclude it entirely, the selection of Wi-Fi assistance throughout the selection is far more limited than comparable brands (GE currently has a single smart dishwasher in the lineup, but they may add more in the future).
Bottom line: If you're looking for dishwashing machines that push technological boundaries, GE might not fulfill your checklist, but you will find consistent, near sound-less dishwashers that are kind to your wallet.

The type of cycle you run also affects the amount of water used. The Normal cycle uses nine complete or partial "fills and pump-outs" as it uses a dirt sensor to monitor the water needed for a particular load. The Light wash cycle requires less water and uses six fills and pump-outs per cycle.
