This is our third trash compactor we have installed in our kitchen over the past 20 years. It is by far the nicest looking one we have had it super easy to use.

Very Little Compaction

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very little compaction. When the trash gets to the top it won't compact. Sometimes you have to wiggle the compactor in order to get it to start compacting. Pretty poor for a supposedly upper end appliance.

worked perfectly until it didn't

I bought this exact machine in 2006 for a kitchen renovation. Until three years ago it was by far my favorite appliance given how much trash our family produces. However, three years ago the 'stop' motor failed. About a year ago it stopped compacting without getting stuck. Is a compactor only supposed to last 8 years with daily use?
